How Roblox Robux tax works
When you sell items, game passes, or limiteds on the Roblox marketplace, Roblox keeps a 30% marketplace fee (often called Robux tax). You receive 70% of the list price.
Formula: Robux after tax = floor(list price × 0.70).
To keep a target amount: list price = ceil(desired ÷ 0.70).
Robux before tax vs after tax
Before tax is what buyers pay (the list price). After tax is what you receive after the 30% fee. Use the calculator above to flip either direction — from list price to payout, or from desired payout to required list price.
Example calculations
These examples use the standard 30% marketplace fee (you keep 70%).
| List price (before tax) | Tax (30%) | You receive (after tax) |
|---|---|---|
| 100 R$ | 30 R$ | 70 R$ |
| 400 R$ | 120 R$ | 280 R$ |
| 572 R$ | 172 R$ | ~400 R$ |
| 1,000 R$ | 300 R$ | 700 R$ |
| 1,429 R$ | 429 R$ | ~1,000 R$ |
Want buyers to effectively give you 400 Robux after tax? List around 572 R$ (400 ÷ 0.70). For 1,000 Robux after tax, list around 1,429 R$.
PLS Donate and Robux tax
In experiences like PLS Donate, donations and marketplace-style purchases still follow Roblox’s platform fee rules. If someone “sends” you Robux through a game pass or similar sale, the amount you keep is typically after the 30% fee — not the full listed amount.
Tip: if a donor wants you to receive a specific amount, they (or you) should price the pass using the “list price needed” field above. See also Robux tax calculator guide, how to send Robux, and pending Robux timing.
