How to Add Patterns and Text to Roblox Clothes

Patterns and text make clothing feel finished — if they stay readable after UV wrap. This guide covers a free workflow for Roblox shirt patterns, fills, and on-clothing text.

Patterns

  1. Select a body region in the shirt or pants maker.
  2. Apply a fill or pattern to that region only.
  3. Check 3D — busy tiling on sleeves often looks noisy in-game.

Text that stays readable

  • Prefer short words on the chest face
  • Avoid wrapping a sentence across torso side seams
  • Increase size; thin fonts disappear after compression
  • Re-check Left / Right views in the clothing tester

Android

The Android app supports brushes, patterns, stickers and text with live 3D preview where available in the current Play build. Phone guide: create clothing on Android.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add text to a Roblox shirt for free?

Yes — use the free web shirt maker text tools, then export PNG.

Why is my text crooked on the avatar?

It likely crossed a UV seam. Keep text inside one face and re-check in the clothing tester.

Do patterns work on pants too?

Yes — apply per leg/waist region and verify Left/Right views.
